Business Intelligence Dashboard Development
Seditio Asia develops business intelligence dashboards that turn operational data into decisions — custom-built dashboards, Tableau integrations and BigQuery-backed reporting — drawing on delivery experience from the Tableau-integrated Smartchoices.ie platform to the billing, utility and workflow analytics running inside our own products.
Every organisation has more data than insight. The numbers exist — in databases, SaaS tools, billing systems and spreadsheets — but they are fragmented, inconsistently defined and invisible to the people making decisions. A good BI dashboard is not a chart gallery; it is an agreed, trusted answer to the questions a business asks every week, delivered fast enough and clearly enough that people actually act on it.
Dashboard development is embedded in how Seditio builds. For Solas we delivered Smartchoices.ie, a data-driven employment platform with Tableau integration. ManagedPMO ships analytics reporting across property operations — tickets, utilities and billing — so developers and managers see portfolio performance rather than raw records. Biologit surfaces workflow analytics inside its pharmacovigilance screening. Custom dashboards and reporting are part of nearly every platform we operate, because software without measurement is software flying blind.
What we build
Engagements range from a single executive dashboard over existing data to a full reporting layer — pipelines, warehouse and dashboards — built into your product or operations.
- Custom operational dashboards built into your platforms and portals
- Executive and KPI dashboards with agreed metric definitions
- Tableau integration and deployment, as delivered for Smartchoices.ie
- BigQuery-backed data pipelines and warehouse reporting
- Embedded, customer-facing analytics inside SaaS products
- Billing, utilities and workflow analytics for operational teams
Engineering the layer under the dashboard
Most dashboard projects fail below the surface: inconsistent metric definitions, unreliable pipelines and source systems that disagree. As a software engineering company, we build that layer properly — data models that reconcile sources, pipelines into stores like BigQuery, and metric definitions agreed with the business before the first chart is drawn. The dashboard on top is then straightforward, whether it is a custom interface inside your product or a Tableau workbook your analysts extend.
We also design for the day after launch: access control over sensitive figures, performance as data volumes grow, and the governance that stops a trusted dashboard drifting into another spreadsheet of contested numbers.
BI for Asia-Pacific organisations
Asia-Pacific operations generate distinctly regional reporting needs: performance split across markets and currencies, teams reviewing dashboards across time zones from Manila to Sydney, and data-residency preferences shaping where warehouses live. We build reporting layers on regional cloud infrastructure — Google Cloud and BigQuery are core strengths — and our Cebu team supports and evolves dashboards inside the region's working day.
Frequently asked questions
- Should we use Tableau or a custom-built dashboard?
- It depends on the audience. Tableau and similar tools suit internal analysts who explore data and build their own views — we have delivered Tableau integration on the Smartchoices.ie platform. Custom dashboards win when analytics must live inside your product, serve customers, match your brand and workflows, or avoid per-viewer licensing. Many clients end up with both: a warehouse feeding Tableau internally and custom dashboards externally.
- Our data is scattered across many systems. Where do we start?
- With the questions, not the data. We agree the decisions the dashboard must support, define the metrics behind them, then build pipelines from only the sources those metrics need — typically into BigQuery or a managed SQL store. Starting from questions keeps the first phase small and useful instead of a year-long warehouse project with nothing to show.
- Can you build customer-facing analytics into our SaaS product?
- Yes — embedded analytics is a natural extension of our SaaS work. Our own platforms ship it: ManagedPMO gives property managers ticket, utility and billing analytics, and Biologit surfaces workflow analytics to its users. We handle the multi-tenant data isolation, performance and access-control questions that make embedded analytics harder than internal reporting.
- How do you keep dashboard numbers trustworthy over time?
- Through governance built in from the start: documented metric definitions agreed with the business, automated pipeline monitoring that flags failures before users spot gaps, and reconciliation checks against source systems. A dashboard stays trusted only as long as its numbers survive scrutiny, so we engineer for that scrutiny rather than hoping it never comes.
