Jomalia Shipping: A Ferry Booking Platform Built from the Ground Up

Jomalia Shipping Corporation operates passenger and cargo ferry services in the Philippines. Seditio built a booking platform from the ground up to replace the company's dependence on high-fee third-party systems, integrating it with existing logistics operations and designing it to scale to other providers.

The challenge

Jomalia Shipping's passenger and cargo bookings ran through third-party systems that charged high fees on every transaction — a recurring cost that grew with the business and put the customer relationship in someone else's hands. Owning the booking experience meant building a platform of its own.

A booking system for a working ferry operator cannot exist in isolation. It had to integrate with Jomalia's existing logistics operations, work smoothly for passengers and office staff across different devices, and be architected so that it could scale beyond a single operator to other providers in future.

The Seditio solution

Seditio built the passenger and cargo booking platform from the ground up, giving Jomalia Shipping direct ownership of its bookings and removing the dependence on high-fee third-party systems. The platform was integrated with the company's existing logistics operations so that bookings, vessels and cargo move through one connected workflow.

QR and multi-device integrations connect the digital booking through to the physical journey, from purchase to boarding, and keep the platform usable across the devices passengers and staff actually have. The architecture was deliberately designed to be scalable to other providers, so the platform can grow beyond Jomalia's own routes.

The outcome

The platform significantly reduced booking turnaround times and the time consumed by office workflows, while eliminating the recurring fees of third-party booking systems. Jomalia Shipping now runs its passenger and cargo bookings on infrastructure it owns, with a platform designed to extend to other providers.
